Test Slider

Due to testing dates being cancelled, The Maxwell Foundation will not require SAT/ACT test scores for the fall 2021 application cycle. While this is a temporary waiver of our requirement, if an applicant has taken the SAT or ACT, reporting test scores is highly encouraged.

We will continue to take a holistic approach to application review, taking into consideration grades, curriculum, activities and involvement, essay writing and character.

Acknowledging the accomplishments of high-achieving students

The Maxwell Foundation provides financial resources to student leaders from Washington state.
The Foundation is offering financial aid of up to $5,000 per year for freshmen starting a four-year private college program during the 2020-21 academic year.
Other requirements include: completing the online application, composing a short essay, and achieving test scores on the combined math/reading SAT of 1200 or more (or equivalent ACT scores). Scholarships also require that there must be financial need as determined by the standard FAFSA process.
Newly awarded scholarships will be limited to entering freshmen. The scholarship is renewable each year for a total of up to $20,000 over a four year period.

The scholarship is designed to provide assistance to those who have shown ability, aptitude and a promise of useful citizenship and also have a financial need.
Each recipient will be a living memorial to Edmund F. Maxwell.
